- This is an 18 month contract role What you'll be doing : Lead the overall design & development, planning, scheduling of your category ensuring all key initiatives best represent our Commercial Plan and Brand Strategies. Produce and implement business development plans for all business units incorporating : Range strategy Assess commercial performance of current range Review market trends and opportunities Review competitor offerings Price positioning Assess current pricing and margin performance Review competitor price positioning Promotion plan Develop appropriate promotional strategies to drive profitability Supply chain Ensure that inbound service levels are on target Cost of goods Ensure that we are leveraging our group buying power effectively Through effective management of the administrative resource ensure that your product and price file is continuously and accurately maintained Support the Business Units by making regular site visits to achieve the following objective : Solicit customer feedback & insight Communicate relevant changes and developments Coach, mentor and motivate the appropriate business unit colleagues Support the business units through development of working relationship with the sales teams and the key customers Be prepared to commit to further education programs as appropriate Measures : Quality of business development plans Sales and margin performance by category by business units Inbound service levels Administrative measures e.g. First time match rate Frequency, quality and effectiveness of site visits to Cash & Carrys Quality of relationships developed with DCR & DFS sales teams What you will have : Minimum of 2 years experience working within a buying / trading team with responsibility for managing categories or product portfolios Experience in data analysis and interpretation Proven track record of delivering commercial results in a fast-moving environment Experience of working on a cross functional or cross departmental basis Strong commercial acumen and customer focus Systematic problem-solving skills Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent Negotiation & Numeracy skills Excellent working knowledge Microsoft package in particular Excel Ability to make decisions, meet targets and work under pressure Excellent planning, and organisational skills What is nice to have : 3rd level qualification in Business, Finance or related subject Sound Category Management experience within the food retail / wholesale industry Knowledge of the Irish and UK grocery industry Previous people management experience What we Offer or Why Musgrave : Career Development : With a commitment to your personal and professional growth, Musgrave offers numerous opportunities for advancement and learning.
