Junior Automation Engineer

Junior Automation Engineer - Athlone / Dublin The Job : The successful candidate will work within a team of Automation Engineers, on PLC / HMI / SCADA / DCS systems. Development, install and debug PLC code for new projects. Develop and implement PLC code upgrades and manage the rollout to equipment. Provide technical support to the wider team throughout the entire project cycle, including design, machine build, debugging and commissioning phases. Create and maintain all relevant documentation for new and upgraded equipment. Research, test and validate new technologies for use in future equipment solutions. Responsible for ensuring that project timelines and targets are achieved. The Person : Good working knowledge of PLCs and control systems. Have good working knowledge and understanding of PLC Programming- preferably in a highly regulated environment. Imaginative and creative approach to technical problem-solving. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Ability to work independently and also as part of a team as necessary. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Key Requirements : Qualification to Level 8 in Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering or equivalent Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. This role is based in Athlone or West Dublin. Full clean drivers licence is required for this role. Any applicant must have an existing work permit or visa for Ireland.
