Job Opportunity : Youth Advocate / Reception Officer Full-Time Location : Dundalk Town centre Salary : Starting from €38,000 per year Job Type : Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 : 00am 5 : 30pm) Work Location : On-site, Dundalk Benefits : On-site parking We are currently seeking a dedicated Reception Officer to join our team and support the daily operations of an IPAS Centre for individuals seeking international protection. This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Head Office in Dundalk, and we are looking for someone available to start as soon as possible. About the Role This position involves front desk responsibilities, resident support, and administrative duties. The Reception Officer will also act as Deputy Centre Manager when required. Key Responsibilities Manage front desk operations, including phone, email, and in-person enquiries Welcome and induct new residents; provide ongoing welfare support Maintain accurate records and prepare daily operational reports Ensure compliance with HIQA and IPAS standards, including safeguarding policies Respond professionally to incidents and complaints Liaise with external services, including healthcare providers, legal aid, and social workers Support community integration initiatives and promote resident wellbeing Requirements Minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care, Social Science, or a related field (this is a contractual requirement with the Department of Justice) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of HIQA standards, IPAS operations, and safeguarding procedures Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Proficient in administrative tasks, reporting, and use of IT systems Experience working with diverse and / or vulnerable populations Additional Information While we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, the ideal candidate would be female, given the nature of the role and the existing staff profile (primarily male).
