Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (Acute Hospital, Dublin) Location: West Dublin Contract:, Fulltime, 35 hours per week, 6-12 month contract (with potential extension) Salary: HSE salary scale, aligned with experience Are you ready to take the next step in your Occupational Therapy career in one of Dublin's leading acute hospitals? This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is ready to step into a senior role, working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team and contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. Excel Recruitment are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic, Occupational Therapy team in a leading acute hospital in West Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment where you will make a real difference every day. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist to join a busy Occupational Therapy department in a hospital located 6 miles from Dublin city centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive team, gaining experience across a wide range of areas including Neuro, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Medical, Surgical, and the Medical Assessment Unit. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide expert assessment, intervention, and discharge planning for patients across a variety of acute settings. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will gain exposure and professional growth in a wide range of clinical areas, including: Acute Medical & Surgical Wards, Care of the Elderly, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Stroke & Neurology and Acute Rehabilitation Services. Key Responsibilities: Lead and provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting. Assess, plan, and implement individualised treatment plans for patients in orthopaedics, medical, surgical, and the medical assessment unit. Supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapists and students. Drive service development initiatives and quality improvement projects. Promote functional independence through rehabilitation interventions and discharge planning. Educate patients and their families about therapy goals and progress. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital policies. Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects. Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities. Requirements: CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist (Essential). A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, with at least 1 year in an acute hospital setting. Strong clinical skills, particularly in orthopaedics, surgical, and medical rehabilitation. Proven ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to an MDT. Leadership and mentoring experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and work effectively within a team. Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment. Apply Now!
