Automation Engineer (Contract Positon)

Overview

Automation Engineer (Contract position) at MMT (Medical Manufacturing Technologies).

Locations : Cork & Galway, Ireland.

Responsibilities

Become part of a growing multi-disciplinary team delivering automated equipment solutions from concept through to full implementation

Be responsible for machine control system software design, development & commissioning

Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, robotics, motion, HMI, SCADA, and vision

Develop, test, commission & support machine control software

Design system architectures, develop process flows and software design specifications

Design equipment to CE, electrical, machinery safety and clients' standards

Interpret & develop design & validation documentation required for regulated industries

Specify control system components

Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary project team and support customers throughout an entire project life cycle

Support the improvement & creation of new control system standards with the latest technologies

Experience

Proven experience with automated machine design, specification & development

Strong PLC, HMI / SCADA experience, preferably with Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens platforms

Experience in software architectures and design including GAMP, ISA88, ISA95, 21CFR Part 11 compliance

Experience of equipment testing and debugging

Ability to create & review technical documentation for regulated industries

Familiarity with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics

KUKA / Fanuc robot experience is advantageous

Qualifications

A Level 8 qualification in relevant engineering or closely related discipline

5+ years of experience desirable
