Job Description
Oracle’s IES Data Center Network Engineering team is seeking an experienced Principal Network Development Engineer who can design, automate, and maintain highly available data center and cloud network infrastructure while leading complex migrations to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role focuses on ensuring site reliability, security, and performance across global centers.
Responsibilities
- Design, automate, and maintain highly available data center and cloud network infrastructure.
- Drive complex migrations from on‑prem environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Advance automation, lifecycle management, and live‑site reliability across international environments.
- Lead deep technical initiatives to ensure network security, scalability, and alignment with Oracle’s next‑generation cloud strategy.
- Define frameworks, standards, and future‑state designs for the network.
- Serve as a strategic influencer guiding engineering direction and cross‑functional alignment.
Qualifications
Extensive professional experience in carrier grade, IP‑based ISP, Web‑scale, and data center network environments.Expertise with Virtual Cloud Network technologies (OCI, Azure, AWS, GCS, etc).Deep knowledge of internet routing protocols : IP, BGP, iBGP, EGP, MPLS, IS‑IS, OSPF, IPSEC, and NAT.Advanced IP addressing, CIDR, and RFC 1918 strategy.Proficiency with Python, Ansible, Chef, Docker, JSON, REST, and YAML for automation.Knowledge of Layer 4–7 protocols and network lifecycle management.Operational experience with GIT / Dev‑Ops version control.Capacity management, traffic engineering, and performance optimization skills.Extra Edge
