Contract system admin

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Net App storage systems, Cisco, VMware, and Veeam at the enterprise or global level.

The successful candidate will join a global team offering Enterprise level administration and support be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of the core IT global infrastructure Key Responsibilities : Administer, support, and maintain Net App storage systems (ONTAP, Snap Mirror, Snap Vault).

Manage and maintain VMware v Sphere environments, including ESXi hosts, v Center, and resource optimization.

Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.

Administer and Support Veeam Backup & Replication for virtualized and physical workloads.

Perform system upgrades, patches, preventive maintenance, ensuring high availability Document system configurations, processes, and changes as well as ensuring and disaster recovery policies are in place and regularly tested.

Experience : 7+ years of experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer role, with a minimum of 3 years working in Enterprise level environments of 5000 users In-depth knowledge of Net App storage systems, including configuration, snapshots, replication, and performance tuning.

Solid understanding of VMware v Sphere, ESXi, v Center, DRS, HA, and v Motion.

Strong experience with Cisco network devices, routing, switching, VLANs, and basic firewall configuration.

Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup job configuration, restores, and off-site replication.

Proficient in Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).

Scripting knowledge (e.g., Power Shell, Bash) for automation and task management.

Professional certification would be desirable, eg Net App NCDA / NCIE; VMWare VCP, Cisco CCNP or higher or Veeam.

The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills as well as strong communication and documentation abilities.

This is a hybrid role and candidates must be available to work on site in Ireland 1 to 2 days a week.
