Director of Finance

Finance Director My client, a leading animal welfare charity, is seeking a Finance Director to join their senior leadership team. This role offers an incredible opportunity to lead and expand the finance function within a respected organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Ensure financial systems are optimized to meet organizational objectives and provide actionable management reporting. Oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets, ensuring targets are tracked and reported accurately. Lead the execution of monthly payroll functions and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Manage the organization's Risk Register and collaborate with departments to effectively handle risks. Develop and manage a strong finance team, fostering growth and continuity planning. Requirements Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with over 5 years of post-qualification experience. Proven experience in supporting senior leaders to achieve financial targets and managing budgets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders. Strong understanding of governance, risk management, GDPR, and compliance.
