Job Title : Van Mechanic

Location :  Ballymount Industrial Estate

Job Type :  Full-time

Salary :  €60,000

Job Description : We are seeking an experienced and skilled Van Mechanic (LCV Mechanic) to join our team in Dublin 12. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of a fleet of light commercial vehicles (LCVs), ensuring they are roadworthy and comply with RSA and CVRT standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Diagnose faults in vans and LCVs and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct CVRT pre-tests and ensure vehicles meet road safety standards.
  • Replace or repair faulty parts such as brakes, suspension, clutches, and exhaust systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify electrical or mechanical issues.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Liaise with other departments or clients regarding repair estimates and timelines.

Requirements :

  • Fully qualified Motor Mechanic (National Craft Certificate / Level 6 or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on vans or LCVs (Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
  • Valid full Irish driving licence (Category B; C1 may be an advantage).
  • Familiarity with CVRT requirements and standards in Ireland.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance.
  • CVRT Tester certification.
  • Knowledge of hybrid / electric vehicle systems.
