We have a fantastic vacancy for a Banqueting Sous Chef to join our exceptional kitchen team
Duties and Responsibilities of the Role :
Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the banqueting kitchen, ensuring consistent high standards for conferences, weddings, and corporate events.Work closely with the Conference & Banqueting operations team to ensure smooth service delivery.Display excellence in food preparation and serviceWork effectively as part of a teamSupport menu development and event-specific dishes in line with client requirements and hotel standards.Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to a consistently high standard, even at high volume.Monitor stock, assist with ordering, and maintain cost controls through portion management and waste reduction.Ensure compliance with HACCP, food hygiene, and safety regulations at all times.Train and mentor junior team members, supporting skills development and career growth.Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.Requirements for the role :
Previous experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel or high-volume luxury event catering environment.Strong background in large-scale banqueting, weddings, and conference catering.Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.In-depth knowledge of HACCP and food safety legislation.Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and luxury standards.Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Benefits Include :
