Overview This is a full-time, in-office position within a dynamic, professional, and supportive team environment at SYS Financial - one of Irelands fastest-growing financial advisory firms.
We are seeking a commercially sharp and highly organised qualified accountant (3+ years PQE) to join our growing life and pensions business.
This role will take a leading position in our acquisition programme - providing financial leadership across M&A execution and project management, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
Based in our Nenagh office, this is a hands-on role requiring cross-functional collaboration, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple active deals at once.
Some travel may be required to support acquisition and integration activities.
Key Responsibilities (Prioritised) M&A Leadership & Project Management Lead day-to-day project management across multiple live acquisitions from initial assessment to integration.
Maintain clear workstreams, milestones, and accountability for cross-functional deal teams.
Engage closely with senior internal and seller-side stakeholders to ensure seamless progression of transactions.
Act as the primary finance lead ensuring deals are executed efficiently and aligned with SYSs strategic objectives.
Financial Due Diligence & Valuation Own and execute the financial due diligence process, liaising directly with sellers and advisors.
Review financial data, assess business performance, analyse risks and opportunities.
Support commercial negotiations through valuation modelling and financial insights.
Acquisition Finance & Tax Coordination Lead financial, payroll and tax workstreams during the deal lifecycle (tax qualification not required).
Coordinate with internal finance, external advisors, and seller teams to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Support deal structuring and financial implications assessments.
Legal Documentation & SPA Support Work with external legal counsel to draft, review, and negotiate finance-related aspects of the SPA and supporting documents.
Ensure commercial and financial terms are properly reflected and risks mitigated.
Integration of Finance Operations Drive post-completion finance integration, including systems alignment and reporting set-up.
Support the onboarding of acquired businesses into core finance processes and controls.
Wider Business & Strategic Support Provide actionable commercial insights to leadership to support growth and profitability.
Assist with transformation initiatives, operational improvements, and strategic financial projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience in finance roles M&A or Transaction Services background preferred (corporate finance, financial due diligence, or deals advisory also relevant), or candidates with both audit and tax experience Proven experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects and working with legal counsel on transactions Strong understanding of financial analysis, due diligence methodologies, valuations, and integration processes Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability Key Skills & Attributes Exceptional organisation and structured project management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with confidence managing senior stakeholders Strong analytical thinking, detail-orientation and commercial acumen Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously Resilient, proactive, and adaptable with a continuous improvement mindset Team-oriented with strong collaborative approach Why Join SYS Financial?
