Securitas Security Services are currently recruiting full-time, Construction Security Officers on a temporary basis to be based in Dun Laoghaire. This position has potential to become a permanent role.

A valid Safe pass is essential for this position.

The pay rate is €18.38 per hour plus €3.44 ph extra for working Sundays and a night allowance of €16.80 per shift.

SUMMARY :

Identifies and escalates issues in accordance with documented policies and procedures. Performs access control duties to ensure the protection of the General Contractor assets and property. Provides strong customer service, access control, loss prevention, incident response, observation, and reporting of all safety and security incidents.

Essential Functions

Provides access control for the construction site.

Coordinate and oversee traffic management

Completes shift activity reports and incident reports during assigned shifts.

Maintains a high level of presence and visibility at assigned posts; ensures proper relief prior to departure.

Inspects all access gates; ensures gates are locked or being used by authorized work crews according to Physical Security access control policies.

Immediately reports any suspicious observations including holes in or under fences, ladders or objects propped up against the fence that could allow access to the site.

Performs patrols as outlined in the Post Orders.

Communicates in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in all situations; to the extent authorized, provides information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.

Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.

Competencies

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable licensing requirements for Security Officers.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet requirements for specific skills, certifications or authorisations specified for the assigned accounts.

Knowledge of security operations and procedures.

Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.

Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.

Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

Good computer skills are required.

Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Strong customer service and service delivery orientation.

Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

Ability to be an effective leader and member of project teams.

Ability to take initiative and achieve results.

Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently.

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
