The Financial Controller is responsible for the overall management, direction, and coordination of the plant finance functions to optimize accounting, treasury management, and company secretarial activities, ensuring quality standards are met in line with costs and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and Plant Manager.

MAIN DUTIES

Develop and maintain effective programmes to achieve departmental KPI's :

Agree KPI's with the Group Financial Controller.

Ensure measurement systems are in place for accurate and timely monitoring and reporting.

Set realistic objectives and monitor performance.

Take necessary actions to meet standards.

Implement projects and improvement programmes related to :

Capital budget.

Month-end account finalization.

Cash flow projections.

Debtor collection within guidelines.

Implementation of WCM programmes.

Coordinate with other departments to ensure service availability and address issues promptly.

Manage and develop staff through performance reviews, target setting, and open communication.

Establish and report on departmental budgets monthly.

Maintain and update finance procedures / manuals and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards.

Ensure company assets are well-maintained and used appropriately.

Ensure the integrity of accounts and compliance with accounting principles and policies.

Provide analysis, interpretation, investigation, and advisory services on business impacts.

Establish budgets, forecasts, and ensure proper record-keeping and compliance.

Manage financial systems for disbursement, payments, receivables, and capital expenditure review.

Administer payroll, wages, and benefits.

Coordinate with auditors and ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

Maintain relationships with authorities like IDA, EI, and FAS for grant claims.

Ensure legal and statutory compliance, including filings and secretarial duties.

Manage other projects or tasks as assigned by senior management.
