Saint John of God Liffey Services supports individuals with intellectual disabilities to be active participants within the communities in which they live. St John of God Liffey Services invites applications for the position of Instructor in our Early Services Based in Cookstown and Cork Street.

Instructor - Early Services Day Services

Part-time - 19.5 hours

The successful candidates must have :

Relevant third level qualification in Child Care, etc. (QQI Level 6 Major Award or higher)

At least 1 years experience of working with children with intellectual disabilities or Global Developmental Delay

Ideally; at least 1 years experience working within a preschool / Montessori setting.

A good understanding and experience of delivering preschool curriculum.

Enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility and empathy for working with children across the spectrum of intellectual disabilities.

Knowledge of HSE National Policy of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons.

A commitment to adhering to Tusla Regulations and a good awareness of same.

Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to high levels of infection prevention and control in the course of their work .

Experience in delivering individualised services and supports.

Willingness to support children in their personal care .

An awareness and understanding of alternative communication aids (Lamh).

Proficient Information, Communication and Technologies (ICT) skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of liaising with families and multi disciplinary teams on behalf of the people we support.
