Accounts Assistant 6-12 Month Contract Immediate start Salary:€38,000 - €40,000 depending on experience Location: Ashford, Co. Wicklow On-site with Hybrid after 6 months probation period 2 days Working from Home per week The Role This is a busy, high-volume operational Accounts Assistant role in a manufacturing/distribution business. Accuracy and pace are critical. Youll support AP/AR and day-to-day finance operations, working closely with Sales, Purchasing and Operations. This is not a junior role and is not suitable for candidates early in their finance career. Key Responsibilities High-volume customer invoicing and monthly statements Credit control / debtor ledger maintenance and proactive follow-up Dispatch stock in ERP using batch/lot numbers Verify delivery / landed costs and resolve discrepancies Multi-currency processing (EUR/GBP/USD) Bank / card reconciliations and reporting support Maintain debtor insurance limits and ensure compliance support (VIES/Intrastat/triangulation exposure beneficial) Essential (Non-Negotiable) Applicants must clearly demonstrate: Minimum 5 years in an Accounts Assistant / Finance Admin role (AP/AR/GL) Proven ability to handle high transaction volumes accurately under pressure Practical working knowledge of VAT, including correct treatment of sales, purchases, credit notes, and multi-currency transactions (VIES / Intrastat exposure desirable) Multi-currency experience (EUR/GBP/USD) ERP experience (Sage 200 ideal or similar) + strong Excel Person Specification: Mature, steady, and accountable takes ownership without drama.
