Description Secondment opportunity on the Direct Retail Leadership Team as Head of Retail Direct Strategy, Performance & Risk This is an exciting opportunity for up to 9 months to collaborate closely with the Director of Retail Direct and contribute significantly to helping Retail Direct realise its strategic goals and achieve meaningful outcomes. About the Role As Head of Retail Direct Strategy & Performance you'll be at the forefront of balancing the delivery of growth and profitability, working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Underwriting, and Pricing to boost performance and hold channels accountable. Drive the formulation of the Direct Distribution strategy in RoI and NI with a focus on delivering Group Strategic priorities and Retail Direct priorities Ensure the direct strategy for each market reflects local market competition, regulation and compliance Lead the annual Direct Planning process which establishes the core link between strategy, operations, financial planning, and annual budgeting Work with Executive to set targets, performance and KPIs for all Direct business Work with Head of Direct Retail Products to ensure optimisation of product sales and distribution across all channels. Highlight and develop appropriate strategies and / or action plans to address any opportunities and threats that emerge for the Direct Retail business Define, rollout and operate the risk management and control reporting framework for non-operational Direct teams Qualifications About You The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering strong business results through strategic planning and deep market expertise in the RoI and NI insurance sectors, complimented by strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead change and engage stakeholders effectively. 5 years' experience at senior level of Direct business growth, P&L management and revenue generation experience, working within a fast paced customer focused business Degree level business qualification Proven track record of achieving strong business results with clear strategic direction, effectively executing plans to deliver profit and growth that supports satisfied customers and engaged staff. Experience in strategic planning and analysis and corporate business development. Deep understanding of the RoI and NI insurance markets, including key competitors and industry trends. Strong knowledge and practical experience in design thinking, agile, lean, and business change implementation methodologies. Demonstrate commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and advanced analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities. Proactive, enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and simplifying complex concepts. Confident in challenging existing practices and fostering change, while maintaining effective relationships and working within strict deadlines.
