Speech and Language Therapist - Primary care

Speech and Language Therapist - The Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist will work as part of the multidisciplinary paediatric team to provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with speech, language, and communication needs, including feeding and swallowing disorders where appropriate. The role involves direct clinical work, collaboration with families, schools, and other professionals, and participation in service development initiatives in line with evidence-based practice. This role is based in Naas, Co Kildare. Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist Assess, diagnose, and manage a caseload of children with a variety of communication and / or feeding difficulties, in line with best practice. Develop and implement individualised intervention programmes, setting measurable goals. Use both direct and indirect therapy approaches, including training for parents, carers, and educational staff. Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards and organisational policy. Contribute to multidisciplinary team assessments and planning. Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain professional competence. Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and peer support. Keep up-to-date with relevant research, national guidelines, and legislation impacting paediatric SLT practice. Liaise effectively with families, education staff, and other health professionals. Participate in service audits, evaluation, and quality improvement projects. Contribute to the development of policies, protocols, and resources for the SLT services Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU. Experience (student or post-qualification) in paediatric settings is desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. #MEDAHP
