Field Service Technician

The Company : Our client is a leading provider of purpose-built forestry machinery, supplying advanced harvesting and forwarding equipment to the forestry industry. With a strong reputation for reliability, innovation, and aftersales support, they operate across Ireland, offering both new and used machines, technical servicing, and operator training. Their focus is on delivering high-performance solutions that support sustainable and efficient forestry operations. The Candidate : Our client is looking for :

• A qualified plant fitter, HGV mechanic, or agricultural machinery technician
• Someone with hands-on experience working on heavy-duty machinery, ideally in forestry, construction, or agricultural sectors
• Strong diagnostic skills and a practical understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electronic controls
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of service The Role : The successful candidate will be Leinster-based and have the following responsibilities :
• Carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on forestry machinery including harvesters and forwarders
• Service key mechanical systems such as diesel engines, gearboxes, axles, hydraulics, and electrical components
• Perform testing of new machines and complete pre-delivery inspections to ensure equipment is operating to specification
• Provide technical support to operators and report on common issues or potential improvements
• Work primarily in the field with mobile equipment and tools, supported by a regional service team The Package : Salary : €48,000 - €58,000 per annum
• Paid door-to-door travel time
• Fully equipped company vehicle and fuel card provided
• Company pension scheme
• 20 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to a maximum of 25 days
