Kitchen Assistant - Churchtown, Co Cork

Windmill Healthcare is currently recruiting Kitchen Assistant's to join our team at Padre Pio Care Centre , opening in December.

Reporting to the Head Chef / Director of Nursing - Person in Charge, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the preparation and service of high-quality meals for residents, staff, and visitors, while supporting the smooth running of the catering operations.

The Role - What You'll Do

As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities will include :

Assisting in the preparation and service of meals and beverages to residents, visitors, and staff, maintaining company standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Preparing residents' trays and dining areas, ensuring all necessary equipment, utensils, and food are available in the correct quantities at the right time.

Clearing and cleaning kitchen and dining areas, as well as catering utensils, using appropriate techniques and equipment.

Advising residents on menu choices to provide maximum variety and choice.

Maintaining compliance with HACCP, COSHH, hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.

Assisting with record-keeping as directed by the Head Chef.

Carrying out other duties as assigned by your Line Manager.

Experience & Skills

Essential :

Excellent communication skills.

Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable :

Minimum 1 year experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
