Overview of the role The successful individual will lead the commercial delivery of key civil engineering projects, working closely with project teams to ensure value optimisation, risk mitigation, and successful project outcomes.
This is a strategic role that blends leadership, collaboration, and commercial acumen.
Key responsibilities of the role include : Develop and execute commercial strategies across multiple projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and provide strategic input to project planning.
Manage cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Oversee valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Produce detailed cost / value reports and advise on risk and opportunity.
Mentor junior QS staff and contribute to team development.
Collaborate with pre-construction, design, and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal procedures.
Support tendering and estimating activities.
The successful individual will have the following : Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
Chartered or working towards chartership (RICS, SCSI, CIOB, or equivalent).
Knowledge of CVR, dispute resolution, and legal frameworks.
Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial strategy.
Track record of managing contracts valued at €5 M+.
Ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders to drive commercial success.
Skilled in cost reporting, claims, valuations, and negotiations.
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Professional, diplomatic, and confident in client-facing scenarios.
