Senior DWDM Network Engineer

12-Month Contract | Salary up to €100,000 / Day Rate €515

Are you an experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in optical networks and IP protocols? We’re looking for a Senior DWDM Network Engineer to design, build, and scale a cutting-edge global DWDM network for a leading technology client.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and rollout large-scale global DWDM networks
• Drive scalable network designs to meet growing customer demands
• Develop and implement processes to operate and build the optical network
• Collaborate closely with multiple networking teams across the organisation
• Evaluate new optical products and lead commercial tender processes
• Ensure network adherence to defined standards and review system changes
• Lead operational excellence projects to enhance network quality and reliability
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and develop innovative solutions daily

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7+ years industry experience in optical networks and IP networking
• Hands-on experience with DWDM network planning, modelling, and rollout
• Strong expertise in IP networking fundamentals and protocols
• Deep knowledge of major DWDM platforms such as Ciena, Infinera, and Cisco
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper routers, including supervisory and line cards
• Solid understanding of internet routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF
• Excellent network analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with protocols and technologies including DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, VLANs/STP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC/VPNs, Netflow, DNS, HTTP
