Job description
RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals Nursing Homes Home care and Community care.

We are hiring a Specialist Pharmacist; Oncology into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced-level pharmaceutical care in oncology and haematology in line with FIP Advanced Level II leading medicines optimisation within multidisciplinary teams and providing expert clinical input.

  • Provide highly specialised medicines advice including dosing drug selection monitoring use of unlicensed and off-label medicines chemotherapy safety antimicrobial stewardship and management of complex co-morbidities.

  • Support patients through counselling medicines information adherence support medicines reconciliation monitoring therapeutic response and reporting adverse drug reactions in accordance with national guidance.

  • Act as a professional resource within oncology collaborating effectively with pharmacists clinicians nurses patients carers and other stakeholders to ensure safe effective and cost-efficient treatment.

  • Lead and promote best practice standards providing clinical leadership to the oncology pharmacy service and acting as a role model for pharmacists technicians students and the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Manage and supervise pharmacy staff assigned to oncology contribute to formulary development SOPs protocols and guidelines and support service planning change management and cost-effective use of medicines.

  • Ensure patient safety and quality through risk assessment medication incident reporting investigation of critical incidents audit activity antimicrobial stewardship and participation in accreditation and hospital-wide quality programmes.

  • Be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of clinical pharmacy services for oncology and haematology out-patients and day-case patients including ward- and clinic-based services and implementation of e-prescribing.

  • Lead and participate in education training mentoring and continuous professional development for pharmacy staff students and other healthcare professionals including teaching and external academic involvement as required.

  • Contribute to research audit and service evaluation initiatives promote evidence-based practice and present findings through reports professional meetings and research forums.



Requirements

  • Registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).

  • Holds a Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice.

  • Possesses an additional relevant qualification such as a Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Business Risk Management or a recognised management qualification (desirable).

  • Minimum of four years post-registration hospital experience including at least two years in the relevant specialty demonstrating advanced specialist practice.

  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practice and medicines optimisation.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in pharmacy education training and workforce development.

  • Proven ability in managing supervising and developing pharmacy staff.

  • Experience in financial management including monitoring controlling and reporting on drug usage and expenditure.

  • Sound understanding of change management principles and implementation of service improvements.

  • Strong competence in risk management medication safety and governance processes

Required Skills:
