SENIOR CLINICAL or COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGIST Adult & Older Adult Inpatient Unit Permanent Part -Time Post, 28 hrs per week, 0.8 WTE, Reference : SVHF / 14 / 2025 St. Vincents Hospital, Fairview is a mental health service situated in north inner city Dublin, working in partnership with service users and their families.

As a Voluntary Hospital we provide a comprehensive inpatient mental health service encompassing adolescents, adult, psychiatry of later life.

We currently have a vacancy forSENIOR CLINICAL or COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTand are seeking self-motivated and dynamic candidates.

Candidates must demonstrate in their application that they meet the following qualifications and / or experience : A hold a recognised University degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with first- or second-class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject ANDa postgraduate professional psychological qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology ORa postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health in Clinical or Counselling Psychology ANDDemonstrate competence in the Care Group / s applied for B AND,Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in postqualification experience as a professional psychologist.

Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years experience requirement.

C ANDApplicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the area / areas for which they wish to apply, Adult Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist.
