Overview

Lead Software Engineer - Java at Mastercard.

Software engineers working on Mastercard's Open Banking platform play a key role in the development and maintenance of the products that secure high quality connectivity to banks across Europe that is frictionless, safe and secure.

Building on the strong foundation of our state-of-the-art bank connectivity APIs, the engineers create low-touch solutions that take the burden of handling customer onboarding and verification, transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering operations from customers that want to spend their efforts building great products that leverage the full potential of the open banking standard.

You will join a group of highly skilled individuals working together as a team to push the limits of what is possible to achieve with open banking.

You will have many colleagues around different countries, with your nearest peers located primarily in Denmark, Ireland, and Romania.

Responsibilities

Work with services and APIs built in Java and deployed to the cloud (AWS).

Develop and maintain open banking solutions focusing on API security, data accessibility, processing, and analysis.

Collaborate with a team to solve problems and deliver high-quality connectivity for banks and customers.

Qualifications / What We Look For

Experience building Java applications and deploying to the cloud (AWS).

Familiarity with modern development standards and tools (Jira, version control systems, test automation, CI / CD).

Bonus : experience with provisioning infrastructure as code, containers (Docker), or security concepts (certificates, HTTPS).

Experience in regulated industries or handling personal information is welcome but not required.

A passion for solving problems and collaboration in a team environment.
