Financial Accountant

Shaws Department Stores  have an exciting new vacancy for a Financial Accountant based in our Support Office which is centrally located in Portlaoise.

This is a fixed term contract until end of April 2026.

Job Purpose :

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reports to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Preparation of Trial Balance for Audit

Control of monthly store reporting on cash reconciliation and bank reconciliation

Liaison with Auditors and preparation of statutory accounts

Completion of VAT and PAYE Returns

Labour cost analysis & reporting

Act as support to Central Administration functions

Skills & Experience Required :

Previous experience of accounts preparation and the preparation of Trial Balance for Audit purposes

Proficient in Excel

Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday.
