Job description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Intermediate IT Support Engineer to join our contract team, supporting a wide network of educational facilities in the Kildare and Wicklow region. Working closely with senior staff and junior technicians, this role is ideal for someone with a strong hands-on technical background who enjoys varied support work and collaboration across different environments.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve a range of hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Manage and respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely and professional manner

Support users across Windows, ChromeOS, and iOS operating systems

Provide maintenance and support for server environments (Windows Server 2008 R2 and newer)

Deliver support for Office 365 and Google Suite platforms

Assist with device setups, installations, and peripheral troubleshooting (e.g. printers, photocopiers)

Contribute to system upgrades and update processes

Investigate power-related and connectivity faults

Document resolutions and contribute to knowledge base development

Collaborate with ICT staff and third-party providers as directed

Essential Requirements

Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in an ICT discipline

Minimum 4 years of IT support experience

Strong knowledge of end-user support, helpdesk tools, and remote access utilities

Proficiency with both Microsoft and Google productivity tools

Full drivers licence and ability to travel across Kildare and Wicklow

Readiness to present certifications and references prior to engagement

Contract Details

2-year fixed-term contractor role with potential extension

On-site work across multiple locations

Day rate to be proposed by applicant
