Job descriptionMinimum of 2 years experience in within the General Insurance industry. 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent. This may be waived in lieu of extensive relevant experience. Experience dealing with enquiries in a customer service environment Sound working knowledge of basic computer systems and MS Packages including word and excel Strong negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills at all levels using a variety of media including phone and email An effective, willing and enthusiastic team player. Self-motivated with the ability to act on own initiative. Ability to investigate and make prompt decisions. Possesses the energy, enthusiasm and ability to work within a demanding environment that requires a hands-on approach. Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively and efficiently An attractive salary (Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience) Hybrid working environment – 2 days in our Belfast based office, 3 days remote, after successful completion of training. 20 days annual leave plus 11 statutory days (pro-rata for working less than 5 days per week) with additional annual leave accruing based on length of service. Flexi time can also be accrued. Company Pension Scheme, which staff are automatically enrolled into after 3-months at 5%, with the company matching up to 5% of their contribution. Life Assurance – 2 times annual salary. Private Medical Insurance (currently with BUPA) is available for employees after your first year of employment, you can also add family members to your policy at discounted rates. Eye care scheme - providing allowance for eye tests and a generous contribution towards eyewear. Generous insurance discounts for staff and family members. Excellent in-house training with opportunities to gain professional insurance qualifications through our Academy Programme. The post holder will be required to undertake such internal and / or external training as deemed necessary by the Company.

Cpl is delighted to be partnering with one of N.I.’s leading Insurance Groups to appoint an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join their successful team in Belfast City.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with 2 years+ experience within the insurance industry to join this award-winning business.
Your new role :
As Motor Claims Handler the successful candidate will join a friendly and busy team investigating, negotiating, and settling a portfolio of motor claims.
Main Duties :
- Managing customer interactions via phone, email and other portals in a courteous manner to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Validating policy cover and managing customer’s expectations.
- Identifying and investigating potential fraud.
- Investigating, negotiating and settling claims in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Ensuring reserves are accurate and kept up to date on our bespoke system.
- Addressing queries from insurance brokers, policyholders and other clients.
- Liaising with other colleagues, internal departments and external service providers.
- Referring to senior handlers and team leader as required.
- Preparing documents for payment approval.
- Reporting to insurers as required.
- Complying with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining FCA compliance at all times.
- Carrying out any other functions deemed necessary by the Team Leader for the effective operation of the department.
