Data Centre Engineering Operations Chief Engineer, ARN- DCEOAmazon is seeking a Chief Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team in Sweden.

This team maintains the critical physical infrastructure supporting Amazon Web Services, ensuring 100% operational availability of the data center's MEP systems while delivering excellent customer service.

The Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for the operation of electrical, mechanical, and fire / life safety equipment, including preventative maintenance, corrective work, and emergency response.

The CE acts as a technical expert, coordinating with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and third-party vendors, serving as the primary point of contact for all facility operations.

Additionally, the CE manages large-scale technical projects from conception to completion, collaborating with internal and external teams across regions.

They are tasked with creating project milestones, managing costs, and documenting outcomes to inform future projects.

The goal is to foster innovation, resilience, and cost efficiency in facility operations.

The role includes training and supporting EOTs in troubleshooting and operations of equipment such as generators, switchgear, UPSs, chillers, and building automation systems.

The position requires physical tasks, working at heights, and in noisy environments, with flexibility to travel within the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, supporting new facility build-outs, troubleshooting technical issues, creating standard practices, training staff, ensuring safety compliance, and reporting metrics.

The ideal candidate demonstrates problem-solving skills, technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, and experience in data center operations.

They should be capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of issues, and promoting safety culture.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of relevant industry experience, and a full EU driving license.

Experience with data center infrastructure, network design, and project management is also required.
