Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Specialist in the Single Point of Contact (SPC) for Renewable Energy Consenting Team, part of the Decarbonised Heat & System Support Department.
The Decarbonised Heat & System Supports Department was established SEAI in 2024. The functions within the department comprise the SPC for Renewable Energy Consenting, the District Heating Centre of Excellence, the Decarbonised Heat and Bioenergy research function, and the Sustainable Energy Communities, Schools and Community Renewable Energy Support Scheme (RESS) programmes.
The SPC for Renewable Energy Consenting is a function arising from the EU Renewable Energy Directive II (2018) and subsequent RED III recast (2023). The function comprises two elements, a guidance function that is already up and running, and a monitoring function, the design and development of which is currently ongoing. The SPC for Renewable Energy Consenting Monitoring Specialist will lead on the design and development of this vital monitoring function.
The successful candidate may be required to familiarise themselves and support the delivery of other functions and systems within the department, including the Community Renewable Energy Support Scheme and Community Benefit Fund Register.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the Decarbonised Heat & System Supports Department and join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI's programmes, supporting Irelands energy revolution. They may be required from time to time to support other functions in the department, as necessary.

The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland. To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit / visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested.
