Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant (12-Month Contract) Location : Dublin City Centre (Hybrid) Type : 12-month contract An international insurance provider is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Dublin based finance team on a 12-month contract. This position will play a key role in financial reporting, consolidation, and technical accounting across multiple European entities. It offers the opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing finance function with exposure to group-level reporting. The role includes a contract completion bonus, 27 days annual leave and hybrid working (2 days per week in the office). Your Role Manage monthly, quarterly, and forecast reporting for assigned business units Review profit and loss and balance sheet activity Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast using KPIs Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP Perform technical ledger checks and prepare supporting schedules Review and complete quarterly bad debt provisions Reconcile reinsurance data including bordereaux and Excess of Loss treaties Prepare and reconcile customer, vendor, suspense, and bank accounts Create and process payments related to service fees and claims reimbursements Coordinate intercompany reconciliation submissions and resolve outstanding issues Maintain a complete and transparent audit trail for all assigned duties Support onboarding of new entities and implement reporting structures Contribute to ad hoc projects including an ERP migration Your Skills Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) Experience in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close High attention to detail and numerical accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting Familiarity with SAP systems If this opportunity is of interest to you, please send your CV to Aoife Davis at Abrivia.
