Job description

Job Title : Estimator – Joinery

Location :  Navan Meath

Employment Type : Full-Time / Permanent

Reports To : Commercial Manager / Director

Company Overview : We are a leading specialist in bespoke joinery and fit-out services, delivering high-quality craftsmanship for commercial, residential, and hospitality sectors throughout Ireland and the UK. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team.

Role Overview : The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for joinery projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation. You will liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure that quotes and tenders are submitted on time and are competitive.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Review architectural drawings, joinery specifications, and tender documents
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects
  • Liaise with architects, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary pricing and technical information
  • Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of works
  • Track and manage tender submissions and deadlines
  • Identify potential risks or value engineering opportunities in projects
  • Assist in post-tender negotiations and contract handovers
  • Maintain cost databases and estimation software
  • Support the commercial and project teams throughout the lifecycle of awarded projects

Requirements : Essential :

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in a joinery or construction environment (2+ years)
  • Strong knowledge of bespoke joinery, timber materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Excel, Cubit, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in costing and measurement
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
  • Experience working on high-end residential or commercial fit-out projects
  • Knowledge of Irish building regulations and standards
