A Panel will be formed from this recruitment process to fill immediate and future vacancies that may arise within the organisation at Social Care Assistant grade. In the event that the Panel does not meet required staffing needs, the position may be re-advertised. All applicants will be assessed using the same criteria and scoring process to ensure consistency and fairness. The Panel will remain active for a period of 4 months.

Location : Various locations across services in Co. Mayo

Contract Type : Permanent & Contract Full-time / Part-time

Roster : Day, evening, night, weekend, and Sleep-In shifts (varies by position)

Salary : Care Assistant (ID Sector) Scale, Department of Health & Children Consolidated Pay Scale (pay award effective 1

March 2024) scale range €30,288 to €42,034 per annum (plus sleep in's as required).

The Role : Social Care Assistant

The successful applicants will be required to deliver on the vision for people they are supporting. You will work directly with individuals supporting them to gain valued social roles in their lives and participate in meaningful creative activities through developing appropriate supports. You will also advocate on behalf of the individuals with regard to their needs and preferences and support the development of Individual Plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals in their daily lives using a person-centred approach.
• Assist persons supported in achieving their personal goals and participate in community life.
• Provide personal care and support as required.
• Contribute to individual planning, service delivery, and team meetings.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment in line with Organisation practice & policies
• Maintain clear and confidential records and reports.
• Engage positively with families, colleagues, and staff.
