Skills and attributesCORU RegistrationDescriptionPurpose of the Role The post holder will be expected to live CHI values and be child-centered, compassionate, progressive and will act with respect, excellence and integrity.Provide appropriate physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment in accordance with current best practice to infants and children referred to the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team.
This intervention will be both inpatient and outpatient-based and will incorporate specialties such as elective and trauma Orthopaedics and other specialties requiring musculoskeletal physiotherapy input.Attend consultant clinics including Ponseti clinic, ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.Work in partnership with the multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.Be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, formulation of a problem list and treatment plan and discharge planning for each patient in the clinical caseload carried.Ensure timely referral to a community setting with ongoing liaison as appropriate.Ensure appropriate physiotherapy-related equipment provision to the clinical caseload carried linking with community services & outside agencies as needed.Lead out on service developments in collaboration with the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatric MusculoskeletalTake part in collaborative planning and continued development of integrated cross-site Musculoskeletal services across all Children's Health Ireland locations.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of research findings and new practices within the area of Paediatric MSK / Ortho and apply this knowledge to improve practice and progress service development.Carry out the appropriate physiotherapy treatment of each patient under his / her care with due regard for the CORU Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for PhysiotherapistsHold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU – candidates must state CORU registration number on application, or CORU application number and date of submission if still awaiting registration number in the case of section 91 applicants.And
