Position Description Electrification of transport is a key pillar of ESB's Net Zero Strategy - reducing the carbon impact from transport and improving air-quality while growing our business. Ecars operates the largest public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network on the island of Ireland and is also expanding its network and operations in Great Britain. Ecars has over 1000 chargers currently in operation with an ambitious investment program to support the continued growth of its networks. Reporting to the ecars manager, the Infrastructure Manager is a key member of the ecars management team and is responsible for the operation and performance of ecars' EV Networks in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain. The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineering and commercial specialists. With overall responsibility for the commercial and technical performance of ecars' EV Networks and providing a high-quality customer experience. The role requires excellent commercial and technical skills and experience of leading a team with diverse skills. ecars is a growing business in an extremely competitive environment. The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for budgeting and managing the operating costs of ecars' EV Network. Key Responsibilities Ensure that high safety standards are applied and complied with in respect to equipment, staff, contractor, and public safety. Leading a team with diverse skills and supporting the development of team members. Budgeting of operating costs and ensuring costs effective operation of ecars' EV Network Contractor performance (including OEMs and Maintenance Service Providers) Asset Management, maintenance, and availability. Ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations with respect to network performance and availability. Procurement and framework contract management for all services and equipment supplies required by the ecars business. Working closely with ecars' Business Development Manager, and Infrastructure Delivery Manager to support the expansion of ecars' EV Network Working closely with Customer Experience Manager to ensure high-quality customer service and experience. Experience and Qualifications Proven commercial and technical experience. Degree level or higher qualification in engineering or relevant technical field. Full clean Driver's Licence Strong awareness of relevant safety obligations and promotion of safety culture. Proven experience (10+ years) in commercial / technical roles. Desirable to have experience working with Electric Vehicles and Electric Vehicles charging infrastructure. Excellent leadership, team building and people development. Contract negotiation and management. Supplier management, preferably in a multiple-site environment. Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Location The role will be based in ESB's Offices in Swift Square but given the geographic distribution of ecars' EV charging network, travel in Ireland and the UK will be a feature of this role. Occasional wider travel will also be required such as visit with suppliers. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week.
