Release Manager

Our client is a major multinational hiring a Release Manager on a daily rate contract.

It's a hybrid role with their office in South Dublin working with a global team.

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release process, ensuring smooth coordination, deployment, and resolution of any issues related to lower lane and production releases.

This position requires extensive experience in release management, branching strategies, and deployment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the Release Management activities, ensuring efficient collaboration and the timely delivery of releases.
• Provide expert advice on addressing urgent production issues, assisting teams in determining the best approach for releases.
• Provide guidance to teams and stakeholders on code base status and environment configurations.
• Advise development and DevOps teams on environment usage and deployments.
• Proficient in release branching strategies and version control using Jenkins, ensuring effective management of code versions across multiple environments.
• Well-versed in deployment logic, including the creation of release branches and manifests via GIT.
• Provide guidance to development teams on managing script dependencies within manifests, ensuring optimal deployment execution.
• Prepare detailed production runbooks and lead walkthrough meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on deployment procedures.
• Manage dress rehearsal deployments and perform post-deployment adjustments in manifests to ensure seamless transitions into production.
• Lead end-to-end production releases, ensuring flawless execution of release steps as outlined in the deployment runbook.
