Job description

We are presently recruiting for a Marine Engineer for our clients based in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin. You will be responsible for will diagnosing, servicing and repair outboard and inboard marine engines and related mechanical systems. You will conduct routine maintenance and performance testing, collaborating with technical teams to optimize reliability and will ensuring compliance with safety and maritime standards and maintaining accurate service records.

Job Specification : Marine Engineer

Design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems for ships and marine structures
Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of engines, pumps, and propulsion systems
Prepare technical reports, manuals, and maintenance schedules
Collaborate with naval architects and project teams on vessel design and retrofits
Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards
Perform sea trials and analyze performance data for efficiency improvements
Evaluate and select suitable materials and components for marine applications
Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems under operational conditions
Advise on cost-effective solutions and lifecycle maintenance strategies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging marine technologies

Qualifications and experiences :

Have two years previous experience in a similar position

Hold relevant Marine Engineer qualifications

Full Drivers Licence

Experience with CAD software and marine equipment preferred
