Head Of Technical

We are creating a dynamic team of aircraft leasing and investment professionals to drive the growth of our newly established aircraft investment and management platform.

This business has significant investment ambitions and is building a team to spearhead the objective of being a substantial player across the spectrum of addressable opportunities in the aircraft and engine space.

To service the assets that have been acquired and that are expected to be acquired in this growth strategy, it has been decided to hire a highly experienced Head of Technical with significant management experience to establish a best-in-class Technical team.

This role is viewed as a critical hire for the business, with the requisite candidate possessing a minimum of 15 years technical and leasing experience and demonstrates the ability to cultivate the skills of a regionally dispersed Technical team.

The Head of Technical will report directly to the COO and will be responsible for executing the technical strategy of the company.

The successful candidate will be a senior technical ambassador with a commercial outlook and have a clear track record of creating value.

Key Responsibilities : Responsible for shaping, building and executing a best-in-class Technical team, scalable from the outset and which grows in lockstep with the Company's development strategy.

Develop a Technical team to be effective in negotiating LOIs, Purchase, Sale and Lease Agreements for optimal commercial outcomes.

Systemise the Technical input into pricing / acquisition process through providing insight on part-out valuations, engine swap and leasing options etc Report aircraft Utilization, Maintenance Status and Operational issues to Stakeholders.

Liaise with Credit function to proactively flag, assess, gauge and mitigate Technical, Operation, Jurisdiction and Regulatory risk to protect Stakeholder's assets.

Implement the processes, procedures and people to systematically : Manage, review, and write lease technical conditions for the global fleet (i) Streamline and optimise bespoke maintenance event forecasting for pricing new deal / scenario analysis, MR / EOL cashflow analysis and forecasting (ii) Produce market accurate in-house maintenance cost rates (iii) Accurately assess and approve Airline MR claims, Modification requests and on-lease requests.

Manage future Aircraft Redelivery and Aircraft Transition pipeline proactively to ensure budgeted, resourced, and cost effectively managed and delivered on time to mutual Stakeholder satisfaction.

Manage all New Aircraft Delivery pipeline from OEMs proactively and on-time.

Manage all mid-term inspection schedules working in delivering high quality reports to Stakeholders.

Manage, to the highest standard, cradle to grave Maintenance Data.

Demonstrating absolute control of data from initial appropriation and recording – through On-Lease management – to Redelivery, Transition, Sale or Consignment.

Delivering high quality automated reports, Spec Sheets and Re-marketing publications at all stages for optimised Commercial and Technical outcomes in Remarketing of aircraft.

Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop the Technical team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Budget & Cost Control Prepare and manage the technical budget Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

At least 15 years of practical technical experience within a lessor, MRO, OEM, or airline Previous experience managing assets for PE, ABS's, Sidecars and similar investor Stakeholders.

Deep expertise in managing newer and mid-life assets with a successful track record in aircraft transitions and repossessions and remarketing of mid / end of life aircraft In-depth knowledge of major airworthiness regulations (EASA, FAA, CAAC) and Continuing Airworthiness Management.

Expert-level aircraft metal valuation knowledge and maintenance-adjusted values Current market knowledge for value of parts, engines and understanding of the market in a historical context Possess a network of multi strata relationships with OEMs, Airlines, MROs, Third Party Service Provider's and aircraft consignment players Ability to navigate complex and sometimes unclear technical data, solve technical issues, and manage outsourced 3rd-party contractors Commercially astute with proven negotiation skills The role will require travel and presence in global offices to imbue the systemisation and continued development of the Technical team Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
