The Role : This is an exciting time to join Ziff Davis.

We are looking for a Europe Finance Manager to join our accounting team on a fixed-term contract (maternity cover for 1 year), normally based in Dublin, working remotely at present.

This role's main focus is to lead and motivate the GL team during the month-end closing process, ensuring that all scheduled activities are completed on time and accurately.

The successful candidate will work closely with the International Shared Services Director, based in Ireland, and the Global Controller, based in the US.

The team is responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including reconciliation of balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts (e.g., AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Management) and supporting the year-end audit to a very high standard.

In addition to managing the month-end process, the candidate is expected to take on various projects for process improvement and automation.

This position will expose the candidate to both US and local GAAP across various countries, managing the team and liaising with entities assigned to the role.

It requires working and communicating with colleagues in multiple countries.

Key responsibilities include :

Managing the month-end close process from start to finish, leading daily meetings with AP, AR, and GL teams against the month-end timetable.Ensuring proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP policies, procedures, and internal controls.Overseeing month-end closing of assigned subsidiaries, ensuring revenue recognition, including deferred revenue, is accurate and timely.Reviewing monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and following up on queries.Preparing journal entries in multiple currencies when required.Reviewing VAT journals and group VAT returns, ensuring VAT reconciliation and posting of clearing journals.Leading the year-end audit process for all European entities.Supporting process improvement projects and system clean-up activities.Collaborating with GL Accountants on TSA activities as needed.Providing financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting support to management.Ensuring team goals and responsibilities are clearly defined, with regular feedback and reviews.Key Requirements and Experience : Fully qualified accountant with technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Local GAAP; experience with US GAAP reporting is advantageous.5-6+ years of relevant experience.Previous management experience of at least 2-3 years, with 3-6 direct reports, capable of motivating and developing team members across Europe and the US.Excellent communication skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately.Technical support capability in accounting matters.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong business acumen and cross-cultural working ability.Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems is advantageous.Experience preparing year-end statutory accounts and month-end closing.Multi-tasking ability to meet strict deadlines.
