Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist on behalf of a Primary Care team based in East Galway. This is an outstanding opportunity for an adult trained Occupational Therapist to lead and deliver an adult focused Occupational Therapy service within a community setting.
You will join a well-established team of professionals, where regular supervision, peer support, and innovation are at the core of service delivery.
Job Purpose :
The purpose of this role is to deliver and lead high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions for adults with a variety of physical, cognitive, and functional needs. You will cover the East Galway & South Roscommon Network and you will play a critical role in enabling individuals to live independently, manage daily tasks, and engage fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities :
Manage and lead a complex adult caseload including clients with long-term conditions, disabilities, and age-related challenges.Carry out comprehensive assessments of function, cognition, and daily living skills, both in clinic and domiciliary settings.Develop tailored treatment plans and interventions to support optimal independence and function.Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior Occupational Therapists and students.Liaise closely with multidisciplinary teams including Public Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, GPs, and Home Support teams to ensure coordinated care.Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.Actively participate in CPD, peer reviews, and ongoing professional training.Engage in early intervention, hospital discharge planning, and long-term condition management strategies.Requirements :
BSc / MSc in Occupational TherapyCORU Registration (essential)Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience, with strong emphasis on adult rehabilitation, primary care, or community settingsDemonstrated expertise in managing complex cases, delivering home assessments, and developing reablement programmesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA passion for client-centred care, promoting independence and social inclusionFull clean driving licence and access to own vehicle for community visitsApply Now!
