About the Role
Product Development Team
- We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead a team of product engineers in designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder and provide strategic technical leadership for our Generative AI initiatives.
- In this role, you'll shape the architectural direction of our AI systems, lead complex engineering challenges, and drive innovation across our technology stack.
What you’ll do :
Establish the technical vision and architectural foundations for our generative AI platforms and productsLead the design and implementation of complex, large-scale AI systems that push technical boundariesDesign and build scalable, high-performance Generative AI solutions.Work closely with data scientists to fine-tune, deploy, and monitor LLMs.Optimize inference pipelines to reduce latency and improve efficiency.Build distributed AI systems that handle high-throughput workloads.Mentor engineering leaders and senior engineers, elevating the technical capabilities of the organizationIdentify and solve systemic engineering challenges across model training, deployment, and monitoringEstablish technical standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for AI engineeringDrive technical alignment with product management & UX on roadmap and deliverablesOur Current Technical Environment

Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in Software development; with min of 3 years as Architect.
Strong programming experience and background in Enterprise Java, spring boot, microservicesDemonstrable experience designing, building deploying and maintenance of enterprise cloud solutions (we use Azure) in AWS, Azure and or GCPDemonstrable experience with microservices based architecture on Cloud at scale.Experience with implementation of Event driven architecture using Kafka, Spark or similar technologiesHands-on development skills along with architecture / design experience; should not have moved away from software developmentDemonstrable experience, thorough knowledge and interests in Cloud native architecture, Distributed micro-services, Multi-tenant SaaS solution and Cloud Scalability, performance and High availabilityExperience with API management platforms & providing / consuming RESTful APIsExperience with varied tools such as Spring Boot, OAuth, REST, GraphQL, Hibernate, NoSQL, RDBMS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, React.Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation.Good Understanding of secure architectures, secure configuration, identity management, role-based access control, authentication & authorization, and data encryption.Strong understanding of ML infrastructure, model serving architectures, and AI system optimization.Proven track record of shipping products powered by LLMs, RAG systems, and / or AI agents in production.Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities.The salary range for this position is $152,889 - $190,000.
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
