Job description

Responsibilities (Text Only) Prioritize - Consult with business leaders on implications of results and provide guidance to achieve objectives and maximize return-on-investment (e.g., operational efficiencies, resource allocation, vendor agreements, etc.).

Drive resource allocation and identify opportunities for optimization and prioritization.

Perform and review analysis, modeling, and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities, revenue, operational metrics, productivity metrics), and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions).

Prepare and summarize recommendations.

  • Work directly with business partners to translate top-down targets into an accountable budget for each group.

Complete and review analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles.

Develop and test financial models.

Partner and solicit insights from business and commercial stakeholders.

Manage financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

  • Deliver results through tracking performance, ensuring reporting accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate rhythm of business reporting, including KPIs, monthly close, and budgeting.

    Generate relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.

  • Conceptualize and design new approaches and metrics for collecting and evaluating relevant financial data to impact future outcomes and decisions.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies to ensure reliability.

    Partnership - Share business insights and develop solutions and action plans to drive business and commercial leader goals.

    Provide credible insights into industry benchmarks, consumer trends, performance improvements, and growth.

    Facilitate the resolution of complex issues.

    Engage with internal and external stakeholders to execute processes.

  • Apply understanding of the broader Microsoft context to offer solutions that meet organizational objectives.
  • Develop and manage strategies to mitigate or address macroeconomic and geopolitical risks.

    Articulate a comprehensive view of financial results and recommend actions based on deep understanding of business contexts.

    Consider alternative solutions when formulating financial plans and forecasts.

  • Collaborate on automation improvements.
  • Use advanced technology to enhance analysis and accomplish business goals.

    Understand the interconnections between data, information, and results, translating them into forward-looking narratives and forecasts.

    Generate actionable plans from complex and ambiguous results over multi-year horizons.

    Participate in and influence business partner understanding and awareness.

    Protect - Promote the right tone from leadership and ensure adherence to Microsoft policies on risk and compliance.

    Influence leadership to prioritize compliance and model it throughout the organization.

    Drive a culture of compliance through actions and decisions.

    Advocate and educate on best practices, new developments, and compliance standards, including privacy, security, and ethics.

    Review financial statements, reports, and filings for regulatory compliance, including SEC filings and disclosures.

    Coordinate with internal audit to ensure alignment and discuss findings to illustrate compliance with accounting, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
