Chief Operating Officer

As COO at Saol Assurance, you will play a key role in shaping the operational direction and broader business strategy of the company.

This is a multifaceted and dynamic role where your contributions will make a meaningful and visible impact on our people, growth and success.

Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Committee (ExCo), you will lead on the delivery of our service strategy and maintain and manage strategic relationships with our key distribution and outsourcing partners.

With the customer at the core of our business, you will play a key role in ensure their needs and experiences drive our operational priorities.

Equally important is your leadership in building and managing a high-performing team : focusing on talent development, team management, and long-term organisational growth through effective succession planning.

Your responsibilities will also include overseeing Business and Operational Resilience, as well as our procurement and outsourcing activities.

You will need to show us : 10 yrs + operational experience at a senior level in operations within financial services (preferably life assurance and / or wealth management), covering customer service, claims, administration, resource and budget management.

A track record of leading and developing teams together with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, to Board level.

Ability to align and execute an operations strategy to support the delivery of the broader Company vision.

Experience at building and managing relationships with third party suppliers and partners.

Knowledge and understanding of the current and pending compliance and regulatory issues relevant to the life assurance industry.

Experience in delivering fast-paced complex change programs with strong technology and digital elements.

Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance services and products, eliminate waste and improve cost ratios.

This is a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF), as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (Regulations 2011), reflecting the role's importance in upholding our regulatory and operational standards.

Any appointment to a PCF requires a written application to the Central Bank and their written approval prior to commencing the role.

Any offer is conditional on the appointee meeting the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity Standards issued by the Central Bank.

This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee's fitness and probity.

The appointee will also be subject to the Individual Accountability Framework ('IAF') and the Senior Executive Accountability Regime ('SEAR').
