Were seeking a Public Affairs & Communications Executive to play a central role in the rollout of a major legislative directive focused on improving the energy performance of buildings. Sitting within the Public Affairs function and closely aligned with the programme delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic public affairs and communications activity related to this ambitious initiative. This role offers an opportunity to engage with high-level stakeholders, support national policy development, and contribute meaningfully to Irelands decarbonisation goals. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a proactive public affairs and communications strategy for a high-profile regulatory initiative. Act as the communications lead on the initiative, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely messaging across internal and external stakeholders. Foster constructive relationships with stakeholders to build trust, engagement, and understanding of the programme's impact. Monitor and advise on reputational and strategic communications risks, working closely with corporate and policy colleagues. Provide expert input into event planning and public affairs initiatives that support the wider sustainability agenda. Ensure all communications and engagement activity aligns with public sector governance standards and best practices. Essential Skills and Experience A degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Journalism, Sustainability, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years experience in public affairs, advocacy, strategic communications, or stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to develop and deliver communication strategies that influence decision-making and engage diverse audiences. Excellent communication skillswritten, visual, and verbalincluding experience with briefings, press releases, and reports. Strong organisational skills with a focus on detail, deadlines, and collaboration. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Desirable Experience Familiarity with public sector governance and regulatory environments. Understanding of energy policy, building standards, or environmental legislation (e.g., EPBD or equivalent). Experience in managing reputational risk and strategic communications challenges.
