Primary Duties
Principal Accountabilities
Therapists are responsible for delivering 5 star treatments to guests of the spa in line with ESPA, Biologique Recherche and Margaret Dabbs standards and Merrion Hotel brand standards.
The Merrion Spa and Health Club Spa Therapist need to have minimum of 20 % retail versus their treatment revenue, based at monthly figures.
As introduction, for the first 6 month for each therapist 10 % retail versus their treatment revenue, looking at monthly figures will be considered as minimum. After 6 months 20% minimum average retail revenue versus treatment, based on each therapist overall revenue will be considered as minimum.
It is Spa Director and Spa manager’s responsibility to guide and train spa therapist in recommending appropriate homecare as it is to mentor them in retail / homecare recommendation process.
Maintain excellent five-star client care, ensure cleaning standards and protocols are met to all clients
Responsible for up selling and cross recommending other business centres in the spa (physiotherapy, personal training and hair salon)
Assist when needed in other spa operations such as reception and spa attendance duties.
Follow room check lists as well as following opening and closing of room procedures.
Ensure stock control and product wastage is minimised.
Ensure a professional image, conduct themselves appropriately and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Attend scheduled training (Brand training such as ESPA, Biologique Recherche and Margaret Dabbs)
Uphold hygiene standards, grooming expectations and follow health and safety regulations.
Maintaining cleanliness of treatment rooms and all items (products and equipment in the treatment room) as well as the shared area (lobby) in front of the treatment rooms
Maintaining cleanliness of product room and making sure that product room is always representative
Assisting with stock control in spa retail and professional stock inventories.
Making sure that each guest is given equal 5 star standard and that spa guest journey is respected (meeting and greeting guest at the waiting room, conducting guest consultations prior the treatment, proceeding with treatment, recommending retail products and aftercare after the spa treatment and escorting guest to spa relaxation area whilst serving them with post beverage and snacks)
Completing all assigned Flow trainings
Following departmental SOP’s
Ensure lost property is handled in accordance with the procedures set down in the departmental manual with items found being recorded in the lost property book.
Health & Safety
Identify and report hazards in the workplace and to follow up to ensure action is taken.
Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, hygiene, health and safety, licensing and employment.
Carry out all duties in accordance with health and safety training.
Miscellaneous
To be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business and guests needs.
To be aware and conscious at all times of operating costs and understanding your role in controlling these.
To have respect and pride for the hotel, its employees and its owners and be committed to their objectives and policies.
To report for duty in accordance with the times set by your supervisor or manager
To have complete knowledge of the hotel and the products and services it offers.
Your appearance and uniform are in accordance with the standard set on commencement of employment.
Requirements
Internationally recognised qualification in beauty therapy, massage
Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering spa treatments in a luxury environment
Deep knowledge of spa techniques, products, and treatments
Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for exceptional customer service
Comfortable with a flexible schedule—including evenings and weekends
