Job Title : Basic Grade Medical Scientist - Histology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Basic Grade Medical Scientist to join a dynamic histology team within a well-established hospital laboratory. This permanent role is ideal for a candidate looking to grow their professional career in a quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform and assist in all aspects of routine histology laboratory processing and analysis.

Ensure testing is conducted in line with INAB and JCI Accreditation Standards.

Participate in quality assurance and control procedures, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory SOPs and safety protocols.

Support training and mentorship of new and existing staff members.

Contribute to data reporting and usage of laboratory information systems.

Requirements :

Eligible for or hold current membership with the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM) / CORU or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year in-service training across all laboratory disciplines.

Experience in Histology is essential .

Experience in Cut Up procedures is highly advantageous.

Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and evolving service requirements.

Desirable Attributes :

Understanding of current health and safety legislation in laboratory settings.

Familiarity with laboratory accreditation processes and quality management systems.

Competency with laboratory IT systems and data reporting tools.
