Assistant Environmental Manager

Job descriptionMinimum Level 8 degree in an environmental discipline At least 10 years of post-graduate experience Strong knowledge of Irish and EU environmental and planning laws Strong understanding of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), ideally within a railway or transport context. Ability to engage with professional bodies and hold a full clean driving licence. Environmental expertise, strategic thinking, collaboration, influence, and change leadership. Support the CCE Environmental Department and deputise for the Environment & Sustainability Manager, ensuring statutory compliance. Manage and maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) to retain ISO14001 certification, including audits, reviews, and legislative updates. Develop environmental awareness training for staff and ensure legal compliance in risk assessments for CCE activities. Address environmental queries or complaints, document findings, and implement corrective actions. Oversee waste management procedures and support biodiversity initiatives, such as habitat creation on railway lands. Ensure all activities align with health and safety regulations under the company Sustainability Strategy.
