Job description

The role

is being established for a 11 month period – and will be reviewed thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and ensure the continuous operation in line with compliance with statutory requirements and site premises management standards of :

  • Steam supply systems, including boilers, condensate systems, and controls.
  • CO2 recovery systems, ensuring capture, storage, and reuse meet environmental standards.
  • Refrigeration plant, including maintenance & meeting production demands.
  • Waste Water treatment Plant and supply infrastructure for plant operations and sanitation.
  • Electrical systems, including high- and low-voltage networks, backup power, and energy optimization.
  • Heat pumps, including maintenance, energy efficiency monitoring.
  • Lighting systems across the site (internal and external), ensuring functional and energy-efficient solutions.
  • Sprinkler and fire protection systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and proper operation.
  • Support utility services integration for the brewery, ensuring consistent supply and environmental controls.
  • Monitor building and site infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Deliver a high-quality facilities management service, ensuring that day-to-day and planned maintenance of the site provides a safe and accessible working environment.
  • Liaise with procurement teams in the tendering process and approval of suppliers required to carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure Due diligence activities are completed for all suppliers and contractors are managed appropriately whilst working on site.
  • Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of utility technicians, electricians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Allocate workloads, provide training, and ensure the team meets operational and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and proactive maintenance.
  • Plan and lead utility and facility upgrade projects, including CAPEX projects for energy savings or equipment replacement.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, contractor relations, and compliance for assigned projects.
  • Support on the Utilities and Facilities KPIs to aid the Engineering manager with weekly reports.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to minimize disruption to production during project execution.

About you

The ideal candidate should be familiarity with BRC & ISO Standards. Experience with sustainability projects and cost-saving initiatives in utilities operations. Other criteria include :

  • Bachelor’s degree level in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical field; or qualified by experience
  • 5+ years of experience in utilities or facilities management within a manufacturing or industrial plant (beverage, food, or pharmaceutical sector preferred).
  • Proven experience managing steam systems, CO2 recovery, water systems, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of HSE regulations, environmental compliance, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous and complex problems enabling you to understand and analyse process and technical aspects
  • Ability to drive change, through proactive communication and influencing skills.
  • Project management experience with ability to drive technical initiatives from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems / software, MS Office Suite, and energy management tools.
  • Highly organised with an analytical approach and critical thinking skills.
