We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Dublin. Responsibilities As Lead Mechanical Engineer you would be responsible for : Lead the Process Mechanical Design team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for pharmaceutical facilities in compliance with cGMP, FDA, and EU regulations Manage and monitor team progress against defined deliverables, schedule and budgeted engineering hours Provide technical input and resource hour estimates to support proposals and business development activities Identify, evaluate and manage changes in project scope throughout the lifecycle, including the preparation of change orders Technical authority for all deliverables produced by the process mechanical team Prepare capital equipment cost estimates and monitor spend to ensure alignment with project budgets, highlighting risks or deviations promptly. Lead the engineering management of vendor-supplied equipment packages including review of designs, monitoring of fabrication, and coordination of FATs in compliance with URS and project specifications Collaborate with internal disciplines (e.g., process, piping, electrical, HVAC, automation), client teams, and vendors to ensure fully integrated overall design Liaise with client engineering and operations teams to align process mechanical designs with user requirements and site standards. Ownership of critical process and clean utility equipment packages throughout complete lifecycle - from design through procurement, FAT, and site delivery. Generation and checking of Data Sheets, Material Requisitions & Enquiry Packages for procurement of process equipment Generation and checking of Technical Bid Evaluation of vendors in compliance with Client specifications Develop Technical Specifications and Scope of Work documents in compliance with Client standards and project requirements Facilitate and lead Kick-off Meetings, Design Reviews and FATs as required. Provide mechanical engineering support during installation, commissioning phases as required Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Engineers with a primary degree in Chemical / Process Engineering and relevant process experience may also be considered. Design experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical sectors is essential Candidates must have experience in design and package management of process equipment on API, or Fill Finish or Biopharma projects. Self-starter with confidence in coordinating the efforts of others Good communication skills (ability to lead Technical reviews with Clients and Suppliers) Chartered status desirable Openness to travel to where equipment is being manufactured Why PM Group?
