Purpose of the Role :

We are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive to join our Flowers team. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this person will be responsible for the development of new sales opportunities and work to maximize sales from existing customers. This role will involve extensive travel throughout Leinster to customer stores.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities :

  • Plan and carry out marketing and sales activities to achieve agreed targets, volumes, values and margin.
  • Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys in order to identify the areas of greatest potential growth.
  • Cold calling of new and existing customers to grow sales.
  • Co- ordination of transport to ensure that routes are as profitable and as effective as possible.
  • Targeting sales growth in agreed store call list.
  • Seeking opportunities in stores that currently are not dealing with flowers.
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied, and queries are dealt with and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Advise stores on range, merchandising best practice, ordering patterns to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  • Any other tasks / duties as outlined by your manager.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

  • Sales growth in respective stores / region using key tools available and own initiative
  • Minimising waste in stores in line with current performance
  • Achieving sales growth targets for key seasonal events - Valentines / Mothers Day / Easter / Christmas Additional growth for key lines during the year - eg. Irish Tulips / Daffodil season - using additional space in stores.
  • Key Skills & Knowledge

    Essential :

  • Past sales & Merchandising experience.
  • Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Sales focused, Merchandising
  • Desirable :

  • Past retail sales experience
  • Self-starter,
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Flexible
  • Good communicator
  • Education & Qualifications :

  • Target driven approach a requirement
  • Financial acumen.
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Word / Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • The ideal candidate will have prior industry knowledge and a sales background
