Assistant Accountant Permanent Role Based in Oldcastle Co. Meath Fully Office Based role Salary Negotiable DOE Job Summary As a Part-Qualified Accountant, you will assist in the preparation of monthly accounts, financial analysis, budgeting, and audits. This role is ideal for someone studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, with strong technical skills and a desire to grow within a supportive finance function. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts Support the budgeting and forecasting processes Monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliation and adjustment Stock management Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries Assist with VAT returns and tax compliance Collaborate with internal departments to support financial planning Provide financial analysis and variance reporting as required Liaise with external auditors during audits Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures Support process improvements and system enhancements Requirements Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification is desirable Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a finance or accounting role Strong understanding of financial accounting principles Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or ERP systems) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience working in a manufacturing, retail environment Benefits Study support (e.g., exam fees, study leave) Tax free Bonus Annual healthcare allowance 20 days annual leave Skills : Accounting Management Accounts Accountant
